Hi Friends,

Presently I'm modeling a process using BPMN. The activities of the process are as folow.

1) Registration with orgn.
2) maintian monthly records required by orgn
3) Preparation and Submition of monthly report to orgn.
4)Preparation and submition of Yearly Report to Orgn.
5) Renewal of Registraion

Activity 2,3,4 starts after activty 1 i.e. registration, and after expiry of Registration these activities strats after acitvity 5 i.e Renewal of Registration. Renewal i.e. activity 5 is required when the valdity of registration expires. Registration is valid for one year only.

Acitivty 2 is caried out daily at the end of work. Activity 3 is caried out on last day of month. activity 4 is caried out in last month of finacial year.

my problem is how to show the activity 5 i.e renewal of registration and other activities i.e 3,4,and 5. Activity 1 i.e Registration is one time activity and carried out only in the start of the process.

It looks like a never-ending process, but I imagine there must be some way to exit if the registration is cancelled.

You are right. Cancelation of Regestration is also there. But I've forgoten to mention this activity.

I've one confusion in mind about the activity no. 2,3, and 4. As these activities are initialy dependent on activity 1 i.e registration and after expiry of registration these activities are dependent on activity 5 i.e Renewal of Registration. So my problem is how to show these dependencies as dependency of activity 2,3, and 4 are changing.

Please clear my this doubt.

It is not clear to me how Tasks 2, 3, and 4 are actually dependent on Task 5. Tasks 2, 3, and 4 seem to be completely dependent on the time of day, the day of the month, or the month of the year, respectively. I would think this would be true if the registration occurs the first time or is renewed. Thus, in terms of Sequence Flow, it seems like Tasks 2-4 are independent from Task 5. However, it may be that there is data sent to the Tasks after the completion of Task 5, which would be input whenever the time requirement, as shown through the intermediate events, has been satisfied. At this point data (data objects) are not modeled, but could be added in.

Let me know if you think that the data relationship takes care of your concerns or if there is another dependency between the Tasks that I don't understand.
