BPMI.ORG ROSTER REACHES 75 COMPANIES AS MEMBERS PREPARE FOR MARCH MEETING SAN MATEO, California - February 21, 2001 - BPMI.org, the Business Process Management Initiative, announced today the addition of several leading IT firms and solution providers to its growing roster, as well as plans for the next member meeting on March 8 in Las Vegas. With 75 total members, BPMI.org recently welcomed A.P. Engines, Action Technologies, ATG (Art Technology Group, Inc., Nasdaq:ARTG), Consilient, CrossWorlds Software (Nasdaq:CWLD - news), Epiance, Extricity, Inc., Fuegotech, Gollaborate, Infosys Technologies Ltd., Knowledge Technologies International (KTI), Level 8 Systems (Nasdaq:LVEL - news), Pegasystems (Nasdaq:PEGA - news), Popkin Software, Proforma, SeeBeyond (Nasdaq:SBYN - news), Silverstream Software, Suplicity, Taviz Technology, TIBCO Software (Nasdaq:TIBX - news), and Timogen Systems. The March 8 meeting in Las Vegas will be the first member meeting of 2001, and will coincide with the public release of the BPML specification (Business Process Modeling Language). Members have been developing and refining this specification since last August, and are currently working on several commercial implementations to be released later this year. BPML is a meta-language for the modeling of business processes, just as XML is a meta-language for the modeling of business data. BPML provides an abstracted execution model for collaborative & transactional business processes that span multiple applications, corporate departments, and business partners, behind the firewall and over the Internet. By covering the multiple dimensions of business process management in the open enterprise, BPML will bridge the gap between legacy IT infrastructures and emerging business-to-business collaboration protocols such as ebXML, RosettaNet, and BizTalk.
